The game starts out in September 2013, with the protagonist and the rest of the 3rd Street Saints having been kidnappeed by aliens along with Kinzie, leader of the 3rd Street Saints faction. The protagonist is separated from the rest of the gang and is tasked by Cyrus Temple and President Leaf Johnson to rescue them and stop a large alien invasion called "THE THIRD EMPIRE".
